Interview with Jen Smith of LivingLegendary.org

“Interview with Jen Smith of LivingLegendary.org.” By Lisa Bonchek Adams, LisaAdams.com.

Jen Smith was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 30. Three months after her treatment ended the cancer returned, and it had spread to other parts of her body. By age 31, Jen Smith was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer, a terminal disease with an average life expectancy of one to three years. Jen wrote two books about the realities of living with terminal cancer, Learning to Live Legendary and What You Might Not Know: My Life as a Stage IV Cancer Patient), and there is information on her website www.livinglegendary.org.

Today, Jen Smith is in hospice after learning in late July that her treatment options had run out. Friend and writer, Lisa Bonchek Adams, who is also living with stage IV breast cancer, interviewed Jen on August 17th. Lisa writes:

“I have few ways to help Jen in her remaining time alive but one way I thought about helping her was to share her story and her spirit with my readers. I asked Jen to answer some questions for me about two weeks ago and she graciously accepted. I know that today she would not be able to spend the time and energy doing this, so I really treasure the words that she has written.”
