“Metavivor Awards Grant to Investigate New Drug for Brain Mets.” By METAvivor Blog

METAvivor is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to achieving equity in research for metastatic (stage IV) breast cancer as well as awareness and patient support for metastatic breast cancer patients. All donations to the organization support this goal. This year, METAvivor awarded a research grant to neurosurgeon and researcher at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Treatment Center Rahul Jandial, MD, PhD for his research on a potential new medication to fight brain metastases. The goal of this research is to determine the efficacy of a novel drug therapy for HER2+ and Triple Negative (TN) breast cancers that have metastasized to the brain and to establish its potential for use in clinical trials.
